When the daily painting is complete, I work in the studio on larger, narrative pieces, based on the themes of abject embodiment and social spaces (and the people in them). I use observation as a launching point and combine imagery from found 8mm films. I also participate in illustrated memoir and the field of graphic medicine as an illustrator, scholar, and writer.

Daily Painting Project/Embrace the Practice
I’ve been painting every day for 5,800 days and I have no intention of stopping. There is a global interest in creating a daily art practice and mine demonstrates the importance of art as human practice and ties into the latest research from the National Endowment of the Arts, “Healing, Bridging, Thriving, Arts and Culture in Our Communities,” which illustrates new research on the positive psychological and psychological impacts of art as human practice, read more about the project.
